One.
Anchor or remove any floor lamps.
Two. If
the television is in a cabinet, close the doors when it
is not in use or if your child is on the move.
Three. If
the television is not in a cabinet or mounted to the
wall, move it safely away from the edge of the
television stand and consider having it removed from the
room.
Four.
Cover outlets with electrical outlet covers or masking
tape. Tape any electric cords to the floor or
baseboard, out of the reach of your child.
Five.
Using pipe cleaners or tape, secure cabinet doors and
mini-bar doors such that they cannot be opened by your
child.
Six. Get
down on your hands and knees and check the floor of your
room (including under the bed) and the bathroom and pick
up any small or dangerous objects the cleaning staff may
have overlooked.
Seven.
Pad tub faucets with washcloths and secure with tape.
Eight. Close
and/or latch all toilet lids.
Nine. Lock
sliding glass doors.
Ten.
Inquire about balcony netting for any accessible
balconies.
Eleven. Remove
any uncovered trash cans or place them out of your
child's reach.
Twelve. Remove
any table cloths or placemats.
Thirteen. Tie
and secure any curtain cords such that they are out of
your child's reach.
